Clear communication is vital in the building process. First we listen. You tell us what you want and what you need. Then we ask questions and make suggestions based on our knowledge and experience. Together we reach an understanding of what the goals are, and how we can achieve them. We then guide you through the many decisions that are needed, and keep you informed throughout the entire process.
As we move through the budget and design phase to the construction and completion phases, we encourage a team approach that includes not only Southern Construction & Design and you, the home owner, but each and every carefully chosen subcontractor we partner with as well as every supplier.
We have been implementing green, sustainable strategies in our projects for a long time. Many of our projects have included spray foam insulation, geothermal heating and cooling, Build Block Insulated Concrete Forms (ICF), water reclamation systems, home orientation and window placement planning, radiant barrier roof decking, indoor air quality, engineered lumber, tankless water heaters, lighting control systems, crawl space and attic conditioning, and HVAC controls, solar, wind and greywater are some of the solutions we have incorporated into homes. We are also a distributor/installer of Build Block Insulated Concrete Forms (ICF), and are certified to train installers. You can read more about the benefits of this product here.
Aging in Place and “no barriers” building is a growing consideration, and Southern Construction & Design has years of experience in this area as well. John Allen is a Certified Aging in Place Specialist, and uses his engineering skills to incorporate Universal Design into new homes or adapt existing homes without sacrificing aesthetics to achieve functionality. Homes that can accommodate multi-generational families in an attractive and comfortable way are among of the specialties of Southern Construction & Design.
